You may be someone who feels a lot of internal pressure to get it right, to do more, or to be better. At times, this can show up as anxiety, self-criticism, or a persistent sense of not being “enough.” For some people, that same pressure also shapes their relationship with food or their body.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you are used to handling things on your own.

Still Bay Psychology is a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and move forward in a way that feels steady and sustainable.

I’m so glad you’re here.

  • Anxiety, including panic attacks, chronic worry, phobias, social anxiety, and health anxiety

  • Mood challenges such as depression and low motivation

  • Body image concerns and self-esteem

  • Relationship with food, including disordered eating patterns

  • Sleep difficulties, including insomnia

Areas of Focus

I work with adults who experience anxiety, self-criticism, and ongoing internal pressure, offering support in areas such as:

How I Support Change

My work draws on evidence-based frameworks that offer practical tools and skills to help you understand your experiences, respond more flexibly to thoughts and emotions, and move toward what matters most to you. Together, we’ll focus on building insight, strengthening coping strategies, and creating changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.

Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor our work based on your needs, goals, and preferences. Whether we’re focusing on building coping skills, shifting unhelpful patterns, or reconnecting with your values, my approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in what works.

Above all, I aim to create a space that feels safe, thoughtful, and supportive, where therapy helps you feel more able to engage with your life in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.

About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Julie Riendeau, Ph.D., C.Psych., a Clinical and Health Psychologist with doctoral-level training based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I work with adults who experience anxiety, self-criticism, and ongoing internal pressure, which can show up in their mood, sleep, or relationship with food and their body.

I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and respect. My work draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. Our work together is flexible and guided by your goals, with a focus on what feels most helpful to you.

At the heart of therapy is the possibility of reducing suffering and moving toward what matters most. It’s a privilege to walk alongside you as you make space for change and reconnect with what gives life meaning.

What It’s Like to Work Together

My aim in our work together is to offer a space that feels steady, thoughtful, and centred on you. I show up with curiosity, warmth, and respect, and I invite you to bring whatever feels true, without pressure or judgment.

Our work is collaborative. We explore what matters most to you, understand the patterns that feel limiting or painful, and move at a pace that feels manageable and supportive. Whether we are working with anxiety, self-criticism, or patterns that feel hard to shift, my intention is to help you feel understood, grounded, and supported as you navigate change.

Therapy is ultimately a personal process. My role is to walk alongside you, offer tools when they are helpful, and support you in moving toward a life where you feel more able to show up fully for yourself and in the ways that matter most to you.
